Abstract

This is the first of several papers to be published concerning the determination of substituent conformations in cyclohexenes. The synthesis of a number of substitut. ed 1- phenylcyclohexenes will he discussed here. Proton magnetic resonance and ultraviolet spectra of these compounds have been determined and these data are summarized in Table I.
