Abstract

Abstract Reactions of mono-, di-, and trimethoxybenzaldehydes with trimethylsulfonium methyl sulfate readily occur under mild homogeneous and heterogeneous phase-transfer conditions to give the corresponding aryloxiranes whose yields are comparable with those typical of severe Corey-Chaykovsky reaction conditions.
