Abstract: Three 7, 8-disilabicyclo [2, 2.2] octa-2, 5-dienes (1, 2, and 3) were prepared and found to thermally de-compose to give an intermediate containing a silicon-silicon double bond. The intermediate was trapped by dienes and found to rearrange in the absence of a trap.
