Abstract

The nitrobenzene, 0-and m-dinitrobenzenes, 0-and m-chloronitrobenzenes, p-nitrotoluene, pnitrophenetole and a-nitronaphthalene were separated from the tarry'residue by steam distillation and crystallized from alcohol. The o-chloronitrobenzene was distilled. The Hinitrobenzene was extracted with benzene, the benzene evaporated, and the residue crystallized first from glacial acetic acid and then from alcohol.
