Abstract
Certain classes of aluminum compounds are oi considerable interest in structural chemistry because their members arc polymerized to dimers, trimers or tetramers. Although these polymerizations are probably to be attributed to the tendency of the trivalent aluminum atom to achieve a coordination iiumber of four or higher, the particular iactors which govern thr degree and strength of the assiiciatirm arc'not imcler-s t uu d.
