Abstract: The structure of l-methyl-l-silabicyclo [2.2. 1] heptane has been determined by gas- phase electron diffraction. The molecule appears to be somewhat strained, as evidenced by moderately long average Si-C (1.883 f 0.002 A) and CC (I, 564 f 0.004 A) bond lengths, where quoted uncertainties are 3u values obtained from least-squares analysis of the intensity data.
