Abstract

The role of the a-carboxyl group in methotrexate (MeAPA-Glu) and the y-glutamate derivative of methotrexate (MeAPA-Glu-Glu) in the reaction catalyzed by folylpolyglutamate synthetase (FPGS) has been investigated.
