Abstract
Decaborane reacts with alcohols to yield the corresponding trialkyl borates and hydrogen in quantitative yield. The availability of the electrons on the oxygen of the alcohol has been varied with the use of substituents having different electron affinities. ... Recently the kinetics of the oxidation of decabo- rane with alcoholsZ has been studied at this Lab- oratory (equation 1).
