Abstract

The addition of an allylmetal reagent to carbonyl compounds is a useful process in organic synthesis. l However, this highly reactive reagent sometimes causes lack of chemoselectivity. For example, not only Grignard and lithium reagen@ but also titanium reagent4 often fail to discriminate between aldehydes and ketones.
