Abstract

The visible-light-induced transformation of toluenes with N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) under solvent-free reaction conditions (SFRC) was studied. The reaction took place in spite of the very restricted molecular motion; toluenes could be regioselectively converted to benzyl bromides.
