Abstract
The dithioic acids are conveniently prepared by quenching the appropriate Grignard reagent with carbon di~ ulfide.~ By this procedure the dithioic acids can be obtained in yields of 40- 7096, except in the case of la which is prepared in 20% yield. In spite of the diminished yield in the latter case, the ready availability of the starting reagents overcomes this difficulty.
