Abstract

Introduction The dibenzo [a, d] cycloheptenimine MK-0801 (1c)'p2 has been the focus of much attention because of its potent CNS activity as a noncompetitive N-methybaspartate (NMDA) receptor antag~ nist.~ Excitatory amino acids (eg, glutamate and aspartate) are believed to be responsible for neuronal death that occurs as a result of seizures, cerebral ischemia, or an excess of the NMDA receptors in the brain.
