Abstract

Special Skraup procedures have been developed for the synthesis of a series of new 3- phenyl-5-quinolinecarboxylic esters. These esters have been employed as starting materials for the elaboration of a series of cu-dialkylaminomethyl-3-phenyl-5-quinolinemethanols via the corresponding acid chlorides, diazo ketones, bromo ketones, and epoxides.
