Abstract
Convenient syntheses of L--arginine derivatives bearing the 9eanthracenesullonyl (Ans) protective group at the w-guanidino site are described. Simple arginine-containing peptides bearing the Ans group are shown to be stable to the normal conditions of peptide synthesis.
