Abstract: Various trimethylenemethaneiron tricarbonyl complexes were prepared by either dehalogenation of 3-halo-2-halomethylpropenes with diiron nonacarbonyl or by disproportionation of 2-methallyliron tricarbonyl complexes. The former procedure was used to prepare the phenyl-, carbomethoxy-, 1, l-dimethyl-, 1, l-dicarboethoxy-, and the parent trimethylenemethaneiron tricarbonyl complexes.
