Abstract

Chondroitin AC lyase from Flavobacterium heparinum degrades chondroitin sulfate glycosaminoglycans via an elimination mechanism resulting in disaccharides or oligosaccharides with Δ4, 5-unsaturated uronic acid residues at their nonreducing end.
