Abstract

Abstract Fatty acid carboxylates desorbed into the gas phase by fast atom bombardment (FAB) undergo both metastable-ion and collisionally activated dissociation (CAD) to eliminate water. Upon CAD, the water elimination competes with charge-remote fragmentation.
