Abstract

Pyrolysis of the N-oxides of trens-N, N-dimethyl-2-aminocyclohexanol and-cyclooctanol gave mixtures of the corresponding 2-cycloalken-1-01s and cycloalkanones in the ratio of 18: 1 and 20: 1, respectively. cis-N, N-Dimethyl-2-aminocyclo-hexanol N-oxide, on pyrolysis, gave 2-cyclohexen-1-01 as the sole neutral product, whereas the corresponding cyclooctanol derivative yielded a mixture of 2-cycloOcten-l-ol (30~~) and cyclooctanone (6 ...
