Abstract
ACCORDING to Liebermann and Simon (Anmlen, 1882, 212, 28) 8-hydroxyanthranol (3- hydroxyanthranol) is obtained when 2-hydroxyanthraquinone dissolved in ammonia is digested on the steam-bath with zinc dust, avoiding access of air, until an almost colourless
