Abstract

The synthesis of the novel 5, 10, 15, 20-tetrakis (4-carboxy-2, 6-dimethylbiphenyl) porphyrin (H2TCDMBP) and an improvement in the synthesis of 5, 10, 15, 20-tetrakis (4- carboxybiphenyl) porphyrin (H2TCBP) is reported. The presence of long diphenyl units on meso-positions of both porphyrins are in accord with their use as building blocks for the synthesis of porous MOFs.
