Abstract

Repetition of the Darco treatment and of the recrystallization afforded the product referred to in the table. 2, 6-Dichloro-4-picoline.-In this reaction, as in that with the corresponding 3, 4- lutidine, the reaction mixture was difficult to decompose, and warming of the aqueous mixture was necessary. Steam distillation afforded a white, crystalline solid, as indicated in the table. For analysis the substance was sublimed at 60"(8 mm.), recrystallized from low- ...
