Abstract

meso-and β-Substituted di (pyridiumyl) porphyrins 3, 4, and 7 have been synthesized and their interactions with DNA have been investigated. meso-Substituted porphyrins showed the stronger effect on DNA than that of β-substituted porphyrin. Cytoxicity of compound 3 (IC50) to THP-1 tumor cell was up to 0.11 nM.
