Abstract

The first 1, 2-phosphagermetanes were synthesized from P-bromogermyl phosphines by dehydrohalogenation with amines or reaction with butyllithium followed by intramolecular elimination of lithium bromide. These heterocycles lead, through a thermal@-decomposition process under reduced pressure, to germanephosphimines, R2Ge= PR'.
