Abstract

A series of crystalline platinum-acetylide oligomers featuring intramolecular-charge-transfer (ICT) cores and oligothiophene alkynyl ligands exhibit broad light absorption, a strong tendency to self-assemble into crystalline domains, and good hole mobility. Solution- processed bulk heterojuction devices using these oligomers with fullerenes show bicontinuous morphology providing power conversion efficiencies of up to 3%.
