Abstract

We have shown formerly that perfluorobenzocyclobutene (I) under the action of SbF5 undergoes dimerization with the opening of the four-memebered ring of one molecule at the CAr–C2 bond leading to the formation of perfluoro-1-(benzocyclobuten-1-yl)-2-ethylbenzene [1].
