Abstract
Understanding the atmospheric chemistry of halogen-containing organic compounds has assumed increased importance following recent observations of dramatic stratospheric ozone loss over the antarctic in Oct 1990.1* 2 This loss of ozone has been correlated with unusually high levels of the radical species CIO.
