Abstract

containing small amounts of phenyl (4) and 4-chloromethylphenyl isocyanate (111, as indicated by glc. Repeated fractional distillation produced pu: e 9: bp 166'(0.25 mm); ir (CHC13) 2247 cm-l (N= C= O), 1739 cm-l (C= O); nmr (CDC13) 6 4.85 (s, 2, CH2). Anal. Calcd for C1bHllN202Cl: C, 62.84; H, 3.87; N, 9.77. Found: C, 62.96; H, 3.97; N, 10.05.
