Abstract

Abstract Cross-conjugated dienones were synthesized by the reactions of cyclic ketones with two equivalents of aromatic aldehydes under basic conditions. An NMR spectroscopic study and X-ray diffraction analysis demonstrated that all reaction products are formed as E, E isomers.
