Abstract
Ethenesulfonyl fluoride (ESF), a stable compound that is readily available from commercial isethionic acid (2-hydroxyethanesulfonic acid) or 2-chloroethanesulfonyl chloride, was shown to be a highly reactive yet selective and versatile intermediate in the synthesis of a wide variety of organosulfur compounds.
