Abstract
Abstract Five new derivatives of diphenic acid were prepared for the purpose of studying their antibacterial, antihyperglycemic, antispasmodic, and/or local anesthetic activity: o, o′- bis (2-nitro-1, 3-dihydroxypropyl) biphenyl disodium salt; o, o′-bis (3-benzoxy-2-benzamido- 1-hydroxypropyl) biphenyl; o, o′-bis (β-dichloroacetamidoethyl) diphenate; N, N′-bis (benzenesulfonyl)-o, o′-diphenoylurea, and m, m′-bis (Ncarboxymethyl) diphenamide.
