Abstract

Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) is an important neurotransmitter that produces its effects via interaction with 5-HT receptors and serotonin the transporter (SERT). At least seven distinct serotonin receptor subclasses are expressed in the mammalian central nervous system (CNS).[1] Among these families, 5-HT6 is the most recently discovered and cloned member.
