Abstract Crystalline host compounds consisting of a roof-shaped dicarboxinide framework and pendant diarylethanol analogous subunits were synthesized and shown to form inclusion complexes with small organic molecules such as alcohols, amines, ketones or polar and apolar organic solvents.
