Abstract

Abstract An efficient synthesis of 4, 5-disubstituted thiazoles via base-induced cyclization of active methylene isocyanides such as tosylmethyl isocyanide, ethyl isocyanoacetate, and arylmethyl isocyanides with methyl arene-and hetarenecarbodithioates is reported.
