Abstract
Heating N, O-bis (trimethylsily1)-N-phenylhydroxylamine (4) at 100 OC in cyclohexene leads to expulsion of hexamethyldisiloxane and formation of mainly aniline (53%), together with a small amount (2%) of 7-phenyl-7-azabicyclo [4.1. 0] heptane, and other minor products consistent with the intermediacy of phenylnitrene (PhN:).
