Abstract

Department of Applied Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka Prefecture University, 1-1 Gakuen-cho, Naka-ku, Sakai, Osaka 599-8531 ... Received November 8, 2010 E-mail: ogawa@chem.osakafu-u.ac.jp ... Treatment of terminal acetylenes 1 with two equivalents of thiols 2 in the presence of Pd(OAc)2 catalyst and H2O causes regioselective double hydrothiolation of 1, leading to the corresponding dithioketals 3 in moderate to good yields.
