Abstract

Summary: a-Metalated enol carbamate lg constitutes a new, conveniently generated (sec- BuLi/TMEDA/THF/-78 OC), and well-behaved acyl anion equivalent. The utility and scope of this synthon for the preparation of a variety of useful synthetic building blocks (4, 6, 8, 11, 12) has been demonstrated.
