Abstract

The statement has been made by Delangel that “as a rule, acetylenic linkages produce unpleasant odors.**** An exception is methylheptine carboxylate.” 2 Apparently, the acetylenic linkage adjacent to an alcoholic group forms another exception of Delange's generalization.
