Abstract

Novel styrene and dimethylisophthalate monomers with pendant lithium fluoroalkylsulfonate or sulfonimide functional groups have been prepared from the corresponding phenolic intermediates. One route involves several steps and uses 1, 2-dibromotetrafluoroethane as the key fluorinated intermediate.
