Abstract

Reactions of the hydroxyacetylpiperidines, their ethylene ketals, and the N-benzyl derivatives of these new piperidines (2) have been examined. New cyclization reactions leading to bridgehead nitrogen compounds are described in this report. As observed in previous investigations, N-benzyl substitution in the piperidines facilitates cyclization (3-5).
