Abstract

Discussion.-We have shown previously3 that the apparent molal volume of urea is very nearly the same as the molal volume of the solid, and that it changes between 0 and 1 molar only about 4% as much as a typical 1-1 electrolyte. It is rather surprising to find that its apparent molal expansibility is much larger in proportion. The limiting value at zero concentration is about that of a typical 1-1 electrolyte and the change between 0 and 1 ...
