Abstract
CONCLUSIONS Total formaldehyde content of the formalin headspace measured by a gas- phase trimethylsilylation procedure closely approximated the total formaldehyde content of the formalin solution headspace dete; mined by chromotropic acid analysis. The vapor- phase species in equilibrium with a formalin so-lution were shown to be methylal, methylene glycol, and three oligomeric poly (oxymethy1ene) glycol monomethyl ethers.
