Abstract

The thermal codimerization of 1, l-dichloro-2, 2-difluoro-ethylene and 2-chloropropene would be predicted'to produce 1-methyl-1, 2, 2-trichloro-3, 3-difluorocyclobutane (71, an assignment borne out by the nmr and mass spectra reported in the Experimental Section.
