Abstract
Esterifications and transesterifications are very important reactions in organic synthesis as well as in academic laboratories as in industry, for instance for the preparation of polyesters from alcohols and acids or esters. These reactions can be made spontaneous by using Dean–Stark apparatus or high temperature conditions.
