Abstract

Abstract 1-Arylideneamino-2, 2, 2-trichloroethanols react regiospecifically with cyclopropenones to form 2, 2′-diaryl-1, 1′, 2, 2′-tetrahydro-3 H, 3′ H-2, 2′-bipyrrole-3, 3′-diones. A new preparative method was developed for the synthesis of 1-arylideneamino- 2, 2, 2-trichloroethanols.
