Abstract

Due to relative availability of bridgehead hydroxybicycIo[2.2.2]octanes or their acetates or methyl ethers1 - 5 these compounds became potential starting materials for preparation of other bridgehead derivatives of bicycIo[2.2.2]octanes. The pre- sent communication deals with preparation of bridgehead halogenobicycIo[2.2.2} octanes (except for the fiuoro derivatives6,7) from mentioned compounds.
