Abstract
It is well known in this connection what Eykman found for the value of the refraction for CH, in the investigation of homologous series. As a rule this value is constant after the third or fourth term of a series; in the lower terms the value is either smaller or larger. Sometimes the peculiar phenomenon makes its appearance that both greater and lesser values for the CH,- refraction are met with in the same series.
