Abstract
g, 8 mmol) was added to the KCN-XAD-2 reagent (dry) made from KCN (2.60 g, 40 mmol) and XAD-2 resin (8.0 9). This mixture had been vigorously shaken for several minutes at 65 OC before benzyl chloride (1.26 g, 10 mmol) was added. The mixture was vigorously shaken for several minutes and heated at 65" C for 24 h. The same treatment was made as benzyl cyanide described above.
