Abstract
Abstract Baluchistine and a new phenolic bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid aquifoline were isolated from a mixture of tertiary alkaloids from the underground part of Mahonia aquifolium (PURSH) NUTT. On the basis of thin-layer chromatography these compounds also occur in the stem and seeds of the investigated plant.
