Abstract

Abstract A simple and convenient synthetic protocol for the construction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been developed. A variety of phenanthrene, benzo [c] phenanthrene and chrysene derivatives was synthesized via Pd-catalyzed intramolecular CH activation followed by acid-catalyzed water elimination.
