Abstract The synthesis of an octadecapeptide with the amino-acid sequence of bovine β- melanotropin (seryl-β [BOND] MSH 10) has been accomplished using the same scheme for the protection of amino and carboxyl groups as in the case of α-melanotropin (α [BOND] MSH) 9), β [BOND] corticotropin (ACTH) 1) 14, and active sequences of β-corticotropin (eg β- 1–24-corticotropin 13)= CIBA 30920-Ba, Synacthen®).
